tip: dimension marker

when creating an archicad project it is very useful to have the windows and doors show their height and width, eg "2-6x5" in 2D, but it does print these out when you plot your floorplan.

to turn them off,
first click on the window or door, (when the selecting near lots of other objects, wait for the cursor to turn into a check mark, then click once to select).
or to select all windows, to turn all dimension markers off at once, click the window tool in the tool box, select all, by holding control key down and pressing the letter "A".
then open the window selection settings dialog box by clicking on the window icon in the info box or by double clicking on the window icon in the tool box.
click on the "dimension marker" tab.
now click once on a button labeled "builder dimension 10".
a pop-up window will appear with all the different options for dimension makers.
the top option is "no marker". move the cursor there and click once.
click "ok" and you're golden.

tips: feet-inches quick entry

feet-inches:
when typing in a wall, for example, it is not necessary to type in: 10'6". you can type in: 10-6, and archicad will convert it to 10'6". this will save you lots of time.
